Here are some of the questions we’ve anticipated for this event. Should you have any questions that are not addressed here, do send them to events@thespianlab.sg
Question 1: Our group is ready to submit. Do we need to wait for 7th Nov?
Answer: You don’t have to. You can submit anytime from 1st Nov onwards, following the same submission process. Competitors are encouraged to submit early to avoid network congestion at our end.
Question 2: How do we know that you have received our submission?
Answer: Each school will receive a link to a google sheet that shows submission status. Group leaders are advised to refer to that sheet for submission confirmation. Updates will be made at 12pm and 6pm daily from 7th Nov to 14th Nov.
Question 3: I’ve already uploaded our script and video/audio on SeeSaw. Can that be counted as a submission?
Answer: Only submissions to events@thespianlab.sg, as advised in this document, are considered as a submission for Thespian Horror Festival.
Question 4: What if we forget to put in the cover page?
Answer: The cover page identifies ownership. It helps judges award points to the right group. If your submitted production (script, audio, or video) does not have a cover page, 20 points will be deducted from your group.
Question 5: Why do we need to put in our information at the beginning of the video?
Answer: Those information are meant to help the audience identify the team and school behind that video.
Question 6: Will this year’s showcase be open to the public?
Answer: The video screening of the Thespian Youth Festival will be open to members of the competing schools.
Question 7: How can we obtain the links to watch this year’s Thespian Horror Festival?
Answer: The link will only be provided to the teachers of the competing schools. Students from competing schools will need to get it from their drama teachers. This is part of our effort to limit the viewing to the participating schools.
Question 7: If my team’s production made it to the finals, does that mean we are guaranteed a trophy?
Answer: There is NO guarantee that you will get a trophy in the finals. On the other hand, some groups may walk away with more than 1 trophy. It all boils down to the judges’ decision.
Question 8: Besides this final, will there be any other showcase for those productions submitted?
Answer: We have highlighted to the respective schools to provide an internal showcase for all productions. You can check with your respective Drama teachers on this matter.
