Thespian Lab’s Digital Drama Challenge has been renamed to Thespian Horror Festival.
Why did we choose to renamed it?
Well, there are a few reasons..
1. A sharper thematic focus
– “Digital Drama Challenge” was a broad-brush name for any kind of online drama production. Renaming to “Thespian Horror Festival” signals right away that you’re in for spooky, horror-themed work rather than open-ended drama projects.
2. Seasonal timing – Horror festivals naturally align with the October/Halloween season. We believe this will make an interesting production/project for student to work on before their year end break.
3. Enhanced storytelling opportunity – Horror as a genre gives students clear stakes—tension, atmosphere, visual effects—that can be especially engaging in a digital format. Framing it as a “festival” suggests an immersive, multi-school showcase rather than a one-off contest.
